We Worship the Hierarchy, But Ban the Word

I heard one of our Supreme Leader said he was called “नीच आदमी” by his political rivals.

It was Nation outraged. Media Panels Screamed.

And yes, calling someone “नीच आदमी” is not merely an insult, it can amount to a punishable offence as it’s a direct attack on a person’s dignity and identity.

I strongly condemn this.

But then I remembered something.

In the Bhagavad Gita (4:13), Lord Krishna calmly announces:

“चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः”

Translation: I (Vishnu) created four varnas based on qualities and actions.

Translation 2 (Indian social reality edition): Humanity has been successfully divided.

For centuries, we have comfortably lived with “upper” and “lower.”

Born from the head. Born from the arms. Born from the thighs. Born from the feet. Back then the human anatomy was a social policy.

Somewhere along the way, “lower” stopped being a metaphor and became destiny.

Now here’s the twist.

The victim here was born in Ghanchi Teli community (Oil processor), categorised as OBC. In the old hierarchical imagination.

So the outrage over the word “नीच” is fascinating.

When hierarchy is in scripture, it becomes sacred.

When hierarchy becomes insult, it’s unacceptable.

We don’t mind a system that historically ranks humans.

We just mind the vocabulary slipping out loud.

The real discomfort isn’t the word.

It’s the mirror.

Of course, one option is to file a defamation case.

Another is to question a mindset that had classified people as high and low.

But that would require reform greater than outrage.

And outrage is much easier.

Next time when we call someone “Bhangi”, “Neech” or “Dalit”.

We need to ask question to ourselves, is it our very accepted social hierarchy.

OR

Are we really abused by our own social structure.

Confirmation Bias in the Age of Algorithms

Confirmation Bias is the second most famous sport in India after cricket. No stadium required. No Equipment needed. Just a belief & the determination to prove it right and any cost.

We never ask if it’s true ?

Instead we ask, “How can I prove this is true?”

Let’s tour three proud arenas of our mental wrestling.

1.     Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) schemes

A hotel conference hall. Flashing lights. Loud music. A man in a shiny blazer shouting, “Financial freedom!” Slides show Lamborghinis. The crowd claps like they have already bought one in their imagination.

That’s the Multi-Level Marketing ecosystem.

When someone questions it, the response is immediate. You have a poor mindset with zero understanding of business.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) schemes are not new. Yet, year after year, educated and uneducated people alike fall into them.

Why confirmation bias works quietly and efficiently?

Because of Luxuries lifestyles presented on stage & Succcess Stories sells.

If data shows most participants lose money, that’s clearly because they “didn’t hustle hard enough.”

They didn’t get in to mathematics. In confirmation bias world, arithmetic is negative thinking.

They don’t evaluate the structure the revenue stream. They evaluate the dream. And once they invest money, Their brain becomes a PR manager.

When they face Loss? It’s a Temporary setback.
When they have Debt? It’s a Strategic investment.
Eventually when they face Failure? Its the Universe taking the test.

Putting the blame back on God and Karma

2. Pseudoscience: Astrology, Numerology, and Vastu

Practices like astrology, numerology, and vastu are deeply embedded in our society. It is important to distinguish cultural tradition from scientific validity.

ॐ ब्रह्मा मुरारी त्रिपुरांतकारी, भानु: शशि भूमि सुतो बुधश्च।

गुरुश्च शुक्र शनि राहु केतव:, सर्वे ग्रहा शांति करा भवंतु॥

This mantra claims we knew all the 9 planets before scientific discovery which is not true, as it has Sun, Moon & rahu-ketu (ascending and descending nodes of the moon).

Science demands testable predictions, replicable results, evidence that survives controlled experiments.

Astrology and numerology consistently fail rigorous scientific testing. Yet millions believe in them.

Why?

Confirmation bias again.

In India, if something goes wrong, it’s not poor planning. It’s Mercury.

Business failed? Wrong direction of the main door.

WiFi slow? May be Saturn (Shani).

Astrology predictions work brilliantly because they follow a genius strategy:

Say ten things. Two will fit. Delete the rest from memory.

“You will face challenges but overcome them.”

That covers literally every human life.

Numerology upgrades are also available.

Change spelling. Add an extra “a.” Suddenly, destiny improves.

Raahul > Rahul.

Success unlocked.

Vastu is architectural astrology. If your sofa faces west, profits go east.

If your toilet is in the wrong corner, so is your future.

And when things don’t improve?

“You didn’t follow it properly.”

It’s like a cosmic warranty that never expires because the fault is always yours.

3. Religion Without Understanding

We defend religion passionately. We debate loudly. We fight aggressively.

Reading the actual text? Optional.

Many followers know Festival dates, WhatsApp quotes & Selective verses

But context? History? Interpretation? It’s a complete Silence.

We highlight lines that support our existing opinions and ignore the rest. Complex philosophy becomes one line slogans.

If someone asks a tough question, it’s not discussion. It’s disrespect.

Faith should be strong enough to handle inquiry. But confirmation bias prefers comfort over curiosity.

Religion becomes less about understanding and more about belonging. And once identity is involved, logic quietly leaves the room.

We Love Confirmation Bias only :

Because it feels good.

Being right feels good.
Belonging feels good.

The consequences are not small.

-        Financial loss in MLM schemes

-        Poor life decisions based on pseudoscience

-        Social conflict driven by unexamined religious beliefs

At a national level, when societies prioritise belief over evidence, progress slows.

Innovation requires skepticism.

Science requires doubt.

Democracy requires questioning authority.

If we dismiss criticism automatically, we weaken ourselves.

Changing your mind requires humility. And humility is not trending.

Social media helps to damage further more. Algorithms feed us what we already agree with. Soon, our opinions look like universal truth because everyone in our feed thinks the same.

We don’t live in society.
We live in customised realities being a victim of Artificial Intelligence in Algorithms.

Income Tax : A One Side Love Story

Income tax in India started in 1860, not because British loved Indians money, but because British Empire needed India’s money after the 1857 revolt to rule Indian.

So basically, income tax was born out of financial panic, not moral duty.

Fast forward to today, British left India but tax stayed. Just like the better half who comes in your life and promise to stay with you throughout your life.

Why Income Tax Exists ?

Government says: Roads, Schools, Hospitals, Defence, Welfare schemes.

Sounds noble right?

But it feels like an EMI of a penthouse home which you didn’t buy.

Tax is not donation. It’s a contract.
You pay, government delivers services.

Now the fun part: does it really deliver?

Is Income Tax Justified?

Let’s be fair.
Yes, tax is necessary.
Coz No country runs on WhatsApp forwards and nationalism alone.

But the question is not “Should we pay tax?”
The real question is “Are we getting value for money?”

When potholes look older than independence, and government hospitals need Google Maps to find doctors, justification becomes a joke.

People say:

“We pay more than 50% tax!”

Coz after paying your direct taxes, you pay GST on everything you buy, Fuel tax (hidden but deadly), Toll tax, Stamp duty, Road tax, Property tax

So while direct tax may be 30–35%, indirect taxes quietly eat the rest.

End result?
You earn → government takes first bite
You spend → government takes second bite

You invest → government takes third bite
You save → inflation eats the rest

May that’s the government version of Balanced Diet.

Middle class are actual the official Sponsor of the Nation

Poor people get subsidies & rich entrepreneurs find loopholes

But middle class gets a note from Income Tax department “Thank you for your contribution”

Salaried middle class pays tax before salary reaches bank.
No drama. No protest. Just silent suffering and EMI.

We are patriotic but not stupid.

How Taxpayer Money Is “Magically” Misused ?

Your tax money goes through a magical transformation:

1. Infrastructure project announced

2. Budget approved

3. Tender issued

4. Delay

5. Cost doubles

6. Road cracks before inauguration

7. Blame weather

8. Repeat

So you pay twice:

1. To government

2. To survive government failure

Some money also goes into:

Giant hoardings with politician faces

Free revadi before elections

Buying MLA as in Great Indian Sales

“Tours” that look like vacations

This is not corruption. This is advanced redistribution.

Political parties say: “Public service is our duty”

But election in India says: “Spending public money is our hobby but please adjust with permanent marker as we cant afford indelible ink”.

No one knows exactly:

Who donated how much

Where money went

Why accountability ends at election result

Even the oldest conglomerate once sold the ideology of “Desh ka Namak” has adapted the ideology of Quid Pro Quo.

Transparency is promised every five years. Delivery status pending.

You pay tax to:

Get safety → hire private security

Get healthcare → buy insurance

Get education → pay private tuition fees

Get roads → slow down for potholes

So What Should Change?

This blog is not “don’t pay tax.”
This blog is “ask questions.”

Where is my money going?

Why no accountability?

Why honest taxpayers feel punished?

Why corruption cases age better than wine?

Awareness is not anti-national, but blind obedience is.

Income tax in India began as an emergency tool.
Today it feels like a permanent subscription with bad customer service.

We don’t need tax-free India.
We need waste-free governance.

Until then, please file your return on time.

Sarcasm is free. Tax is not.

MBA, Gen Z, and the Collapse of Common Sense

At the age of 40, when most people are busy pretending they have life fully figured out, I decided to do something slightly dangerous. I enr...
